Week In Review: December 21st – December 27th

This week was Christmas, which means I spent the whole week at my parents’ house. This is the reason I’ll blame for me only reading two books this week, also the fact that one of them was over 800 pages. So without further ado, here’s the two books I read this week.

Title: Nightworld Academy: Term One

Author: LJ Swallow

Genre: Fantasy, Romance

Page Count: 266 pages

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I picked up this series because I wanted another quick romance read, and it was surprisingly good. The characters were nice and complemented each other well and the romances that were forming were looking promising. The only reason i haven’t continued on with this series yet, was because I decided to start it right before Fated Throne came out, forgetting about it and I’ll probably read the other books in the series, so check in next week for my thoughts on those.

Title: Fated Throne

Author: Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

Genre: Fantasy, Romance

Page Count: 823 pages

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I read the first five books in this series earlier this month and absolutely loved them, I was so excited to read this books and it did not disappoint. The points I were most concerned about were how the authors would handle certain relationships, and they managed to resolve it in ways I hadn’t even imagined. The thing I love most about this series is the characters, the books are long and there are a lot of POVs which you’d think would be confusing, but it isn’t instead what it does is make you care about every character and they relationships. I could talk forever about these books and how much I adore the characters and especially how the authors use tropes and fuse them together, but instead I’ll just say that if you’re in the mood for an angsty fantasy romance series then definitely pick these up.
